A Lifetime of Service.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, in a Christian home where my father, a pastor, gave tirelessly to our community, inspired me to spend my life in service to others.

Four years of high school in the JROTC program and two weeks of camp at Fort Benning every summer, helped prepare me to join the military in the 11th grade. Joining the Marine Corps taught me not only how to lead, but how to work with diverse groups for a common goal.

A few months after the end of my enlistment in the Marine Corps, in 1993, I moved to Costa Mesa, CA where I ran my small business for over 20 years. In 2021 my wife and I decided to return home to Georgia for the next chapter of our lives, and to be closer to family.

Community & Family.

We love Fayetteville, which is why my wife Nora and I chose to make it our home. We have an adorable 6-year-old Portuguese Water Dog named King, a 4-year and 1 year old Cornish Rex cats named Finnegan and Soren, along with four goats. All of our animals are friendly and they love playing, meeting people, nature walks, getting love, food, and lots of attention. They are sheer comedy and pure joy on a daily basis.

As a couple, we love to travel, explore, exercise, read, learn, cook, and volunteer in the community. We created a nonprofit named The Fitness Ranch, Inc to help give back to our community. As a family, we are known for our warmth, integrity, good counsel, good food, spirit of adventure, and loyal friendship.

A Leader, Not a Politician.

I am not a seasoned politician stained by the governmental system. This means that I am more connected to you, my neighbors, than I am to any other interests. I believe that strong leadership is necessary to keep both our local government, and our community, on a path to balanced growth and prosperity.

I was raised to believe in respect and hospitality. I was trained in the military to be a leader with a whole lot of grit. I have worked to be an effective coach, I have spent my life helping bring out the best in people. My father taught me to always be a man of my word and to always show respect to others. I fear these core values are eroding in our community.

We do this Together.

Today, we are putting political parties and power ahead of people.  We are demonizing those who do not fully align with our opinions, whether their ideas would benefit our community or not. We are too often beholden to special interests instead of community interests. We have stopped listening to each other.  It will take effort to restore our values.

Leadership is not a position of authority but rather a position of service and influence, of unity and inclusiveness. We, as a community, need to have a bigger voice, and take more personal responsibility for the direction in which we would like to see our community grow.

Always Strive for Better.

In Boot Camp, I earned the position of platoon leader. I took the responsibility seriously and kept that position of leadership. Service, and striving to be better is in my blood.

Being in the military, afforded me the opportunity to enroll into college. Graduating Magna Cum Laude from DeVry University with a degree in Electronics Engineering  meant a lot to me and my family.

Before I graduated, or had the opportunity to practice in the profession, I realized coaching was my true calling: it fulfilled me more. Helping people realize big goals they never thought they could, bringing out the best in them, and revealing their strengths, is satisfying to the soul.

Watching people stretch themselves and grow is a continuous source of inspiration and motivation. It is what I hope to bring to Fayette County.
